The club in line with their recent announcement relating to their new sponsorship packages for next season which they hope will help the future of the club, have announced a new scheme called ‘Make it Happen’. This initiative has been set up to help with the costs for developing the football ground. The developments are needed for ongoing ground grading with the Football Association and also spectator comfort for the clubs own supporters. Chief Executive David Murgatroyd said, “This is another area that requires funding and it is not should we do it in a number of cases but we have to do it. Having sat down at the same meeting we did to discuss new admission prices, sponsorship packages etc we felt we needed to make this a project on its own, with attempts also to generate its own funding.”

The club are hoping to enrol a couple of interested people who will help in this area both in finding the finance, setting up and overseeing of the projects. The projects will be decided on the importance of them and if any deadlines are to be met, Murgatroyd added, “Along with myself and enrolled club associates we will look at the areas of concern and address those accordingly, outside of that we will look at projects which we feel would be appreciated by our supporters and benefit the club. We have a couple of people in mind to ask if they would like to help and we also have a number of projects lined up.”

In relation to the financing of the projects the club are conscious of introducing new fund raising areas with the main finance being needed elsewhere and David Murgatroyd was quick to point out further requests for monies would not be set up, “We now have the set initiatives in place for the sponsorship packages and we have streamlined our fund raising events and taken them out of the equation for our supporters. We also intend to concentrate all our efforts on the progression of the ‘Lucky 7’ in terms of weekly income which is vital to the club.” He further added, “However to make a start we will be donating our income from the sales of a new golden goal & raffle ticket we are introducing next season along with loose change collections on the bar during the opening hours of the clubhouse and around the ground on home matchdays. We will also be investigating the availability of grants from the Football Association and what we are entitled to, along with looking at other organisations that provide grants for certain projects. All of the monies raised will go into a separate ground development account set up and run by that small group.”

Club supporters’ views are welcomed as to what type of projects they see as important to them and would like to see on the ground, “We would like some feedback and it will provide a start and of course it is all about costs but if we decide on a project we will work towards that and endeavour to ‘Make it Happen’ as quickly as possible” concluded Murgatroyd. Supporters can submit there suggestions to the club by writing to them at the club or email them at info@radcliffeborough.com If any supporter would like to become involved in this working group please contact the club via the usual channels.
