Starting XI

Radcliffe Borough Football Club is an English football club with its base in Radcliffe. Also known as The Boro, this organization came to be on 24th April in 1949. They play their matches at Stainton Park, and their current manager is Benny Phillips. The team plays in the Northern Premier League Division One North. This team would not have succeeded were it not for its incredibly talented players who work hard to ensure that the team can hold its own. With an incredible starting line-up and a highly skilled manager, Radcliffe is set to bring home trophies. Playing football

Kyle Haslam – Kyle is the starting goalkeeper in the club, and he hails from Greater Manchester. He is a British National and currently resides in England. Haslam played at Riddinggate Athletics as well as Radcliffe Juniors before he made a move to Radcliffe FC. Kyle started out playing football quite early in his life at the age of seven. He had spent most of his life playing upfront until recently when he decided to venture into the net, a position he thoroughly enjoys. He can play both at the upfront as well as the net. With his versatile abilities, Kyle is an excellent addition to the club.

Jake Doran – As the center back for the team, Jake has impressed many with his shooting abilities which have seen the team get better at their attacks. Jake had played in both Witton Albion and Northwich Victoria before he signed on with Radcliffe FC. With his excellent headshot abilities, Jake is bound to score many goals in his upcoming appearances.

Mason Fallon – He plays as the team’s left back. With his knee injury, he will have to sit out for the upcoming games which will affect the team. Jon Macken, the club’s boss, says that with Mason out of the picture, the team will rely on attacking. Mason joined Radcliffe FC after his stint at Oldham Athletic. His impact in the club gets felt and his presence for a short while he is away will be missed.

Ben Jago – This English national was born in Widnes and currently plays the central midfield position in the club. He can also play right midfield as well as right-back, show his versatility. Ben has played at Tranmere U18, Tranmere Rovers, Annan Athletic and Llandudno FC. He made a move from the latter to Radcliffe in 2017.

Keith Kearney – On October 2017, Keith made a move to Radcliffe FC on a work experience loan where he plays the role of a central defender. He was born in Northern Ireland in 2000. Keith has played at Loughgall FC as well as Rochdale U18 during his career. He will have a positive impact on Radcliffe for the period he is on loan.

Callum Grogan – With ten appearances this season, Callum has managed to score one goal which is excellent given that his role is the central defender. Callum got born on 12th December 1997 in Liverpool, and he is an English national. Previously, he played the position of center back at Shrewsbury. Callum has played in Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury U18 as well as Skelmersdale. His experience in these clubs has aided him in making a name for himself at Radcliffe where his abilities are impressive. With time, Callum can move closer to the attacking side given his ability to play both defense and attack.

Tom Owens – This impressive player plays at the midfield position. With nine appearances in this season, Tom scored three goals and got crowned as player of the match three of those times. Tom played at the Michigan Bucks before signing on with Radcliffe FC. He got educated at Quincy University where he pursued a Master of Communications. His exceptional skills are beneficial to the growth of the club.

Carl Peers – Carl has eleven appearances in this season where he has managed to get six assists and get crowned as the player of the match one time. He plays the central midfield. Carl has experience, having played in AFC Liverpool, Bootle, and Marine Football club. He has a record of twenty-seven goals in forty-two games, and he joined Radcliffe in 2017. This player will help Radcliffe scale the heights of success in the months to come.

Devante Jacobs – Devante Rogea Jacobs got born on the 9th of December 1996 in England. He plays as the striker center forward thanks to his fantastic attack capabilities. Jacobs has a history with Oldham U18 as well as Oldham Athletic. This ‘forward’ has a lot to offer Radcliffe.

James Hooper – This English footballer signed on with Radcliffe on 23rd of September in 2017. He plays the midfield position as well as the forward position. James has vast experience thanks to his stints at FC United, Carlisle United, Rochdale AFC, Stockport and Rochdale U18. His signing on received positive responses The Boro’s fans who saw it as a positive step towards the future.

Nathan Quirk – This English footballer joined the Liverpool Academy at the age of nine. He can excel in different positions but performs best while playing offense. He joined Radcliffe where he plays the role of defender and has achieved nine appearances this season. Nathan played at the Liverpool Academy.

Jon Macken – With his extensive career in football, Jon is just the right man to help Radcliffe excel in the sport. He got appointed as the manager of the club in September 2017 and during his short stay at the club, there are definite changes to which the players can attest. His skills in management will go a long way in helping the players train hard in a way that they can better their abilities for the upcoming games. Jonathan played at Manchester United, Preston North End, Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, Derby County, Barnsley, Walsall, Northwich Victoria, Stockport County and Bamber Bridge. He also played for two national teams: England U20 and The Republic of Ireland. Radcliffe is Jon’s first team to manage. With his decades of experience in football, he knows the right approach to use for the best results. With him at the reins, you can confidently place a wager on Radcliffe and await your returns.

Match report – Droylsden 4 Boro 2

Radcliffe Borough made the trip to local side Droylsden for their last match of the season knowing that the team were now safe from relegation. This gave Manager Danny Johnson a chance to rest players (Hindle, Landregan, and Burey) and give others a chance who had not featured in previous games. With Matt Davies starting his suspension, Martyn Jackson (midfield) and Danny McLoughlin (forward)  played from the start and history being made with two Boro academy players (Ben Oldroyd and Adam Henshall) being given their semi-professional debuts during the game… READ MORE
